The serial number on this bayonet is 272615. We believe that this is model 1899, sometimes referred to as 1889/11 or 1911. This bayonet was first issued in the late 1890s. Neuhausen is a Swiss city very close to the German border and so many of these weapons were used in WWI and WWII. It does come with a leather sheath. Although it is not the original sheath, it fits the bayonet nicely. The spring button also works. Really beautiful piece!...
